I Do Brew

Creating a custom beer label for my brother's wedding.

December 29, 2014

  • Designed I Do Brew typography and heart-hop logo (Illustrator).

  • Established black gray and white color palette.

  • Composed wedding themed-messaging, with a beer infused twist.

  • Finalized print-ready labels (Photoshop).

  • The perfect brew to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, ’til death do us part.

"The beer and design were a hit and the preferred beer of choice at the wedding."

    About The Project

This complete label design was created for my brother and his wife to be, for their wedding in October 2014. The inspiration came from his home brewing hobby and their love of craft beer. They planned to make a farmhouse saison ale and call it I Do Brew - I volunteered to do the rest. I started out sketching the I Do Brew typography and experimenting with color options. I settled on a black, gray and white scheme - which seemed obvious - and coupled it with a rustic, gothic-style typeface.

Continuing to complete the design, I choose a stand alone icon for the bottle cap - enter the hop heart! It is cleverly structured as a heart-shaped hop. I used Illustrator to finalize the design and prepare for print. I used a 3rd party company to create the labels and bottle caps. The beer and design were a hit and the preferred beer of choice at the wedding.
